PFC James Westwood isn’t a typical Marine. As a clinical psychologist, he recognizes his band of brothers needs a helping hand after their return home from the war. When his boss, Captain Dexter, encourages him to sign up for the 1Night Stand dating service, Westwood committed himself. What did he have to lose?
The last thing he expected was a date with screen goddess Lauren Kincaid.
Movie star Lauren Kincaid grew up splitting her time between the cold reality of the Hollywood scene and her family home in Plano, Texas. After two decades surrounded by artificial friendships and inflated egos, her greatest desire is to meet a real man, not a Hollywood talking head. When her agent suggests a 1Night Stand date, the only expectations Lauren allows herself to have are discretion and exclusivity. What she didn’t expect was having a gorgeous psychologist with rapier wit blow her away.
Everyone needs someone to hear them.
James and Lauren share an unmistakable connection, but when one of James’ patients suffers a crisis, Lauren more than proves her mettle. Can one night turn into happily ever after for this Marine and his movie star?

This was a nice story. Not a blazing heat, but a slow simmer.I liked the maturity and sophistication of James and Lauren. They had great chemistry – it was nice to see them connect.
I’m really looking forward to Matt’s story. His pain and sadness left me unsettled and I’m squirming in anticipation for his happy ending.

Tell it to the Marine Always a Marine series Book 3 edition by Heather Long Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
James Westwood loves working as a psychologist at Mike's Place. Helping fellow Marines reacclimatize to civilian life or just being a support system for them is very satisfying. Like the other Marines at Mike's Place James has signed up for 1Night Stand dating service as a sign of unity. He didn't really expect to make a connection with the woman he's set up with but when he arrives at the Sybarite Club he discovers that his date is far more than he could have hoped for - she's the actress he's been hopelessly enamored with since he began watching her movies.
Lauren Kincaid certainly didn't need 1Night Stand's services to get a date but she's tired of dating men who are only interested in how she could help further their careers. She wants a date with a real man - one whose interests lie in getting to know her much better rather than anything Hollywood related. She gets that in spades when she meets James. He knows exactly who she is and obviously follows her career but he's far more interested in her as a person which is a refreshing change for her.
James and Lauren hit it off right away and the bluntness and flirting throughout their conversation prove to make their dinner an interesting experience. There's no doubt that the evening will end in a display of mutually satisfying sexual fireworks but as they talk they discover a camaraderie they rarely experience with anyone of the opposite sex. Unfortunately just as it's time for the evening to wind down and them to either go their separate ways or find a comfortable bed he receives a phone call. One of his patients got into a spot of trouble at a local pub and he needs to go to him. What he doesn't expect is for Lauren to volunteer to go with him and actually want to help him with his patient. She couldn't be more perfect - but is it realistic to want more than a 1Night Stand with a celebrity?
TELL IT TO THE MARINE is actually the first title I read in the ALWAYS A MARINE series and made me really want to learn more about Mike's Place and the rest of the couples from there set up by 1Night Stand. Heather Long tells this story with so much compassion for everyone involved that as a reader you really feel for each of these characters and want everything to be okay in the end. Lauren, in particular, won me over with her willingness to befriend a troubled young man and completely ignoring her own discomfort. TELL IT TO THE MARINE is a sweet story with plenty of sensual tension and emotional angst, but in the end it leaves you with a smile on your face and more than a little eager to read the other titles in the ALWAYS A MARINE series.
Be sure to experience the full impact of the ALWAYS A MARINE series. Here are all the titles (so far) in order

This story is in the running for my favorite of the series. I love the every thing about this story. The main characters, the interaction with the secondary characters, and the way Ms. Long tells this story made me fall in love with a certain character who wouldn't leave my head for months.
We meet James, Mike's Place psychologist, while he is in session with Matt, a resident at Mike's Place. The way James interacted with Matt drew me in and I couldn't put it down. You could feel that James truly cares for his patients and wants to do what's best for them. As James is leaving to head to his 1NS date that Madame Eve arranged, he comes across Logan (Always a Marine 2) and he lets Logan know that he wants to arrange a basketball game with Matt to help Matt out. Logan teases James about his date for the evening, which made me laugh because Logan obviously was changed by his own 1NS.
Lauren is an actress who wanted an experience with someone who wasn't out for themselves or using her for career movement. To me, Lauren is a person that wanted to be seen for more than her career but couldn't find on her own. Madame Eve to the rescue though. I don't think Lauren was prepared for James though and she sees just how real James is.
James receives an emergency call regarding one of his patients. It turns out that patient is Matt and James needs to head to where Matt is. Lauren insists on showing him the best way to get there. While James is speaking with the Police and Damon (more on him later), Lauren sees Matt sitting on the curb and decides to go talk to him because she saw that he was lonely. Lauren takes Matt by surprise, but she strikes up a conversation with Matt. James was worried when he found Lauren sitting with Matt but Lauren showed her compassionate side and I think that won James over even more.
While I loved reading about James and Lauren, Matt's character wouldn't leave my head. There were several times I let Ms. Long know that I wanted Matt's story and that I had different scenarios running through my head. Now, I am solely a reader because I don't have the talent to write, but when different scenes are running through my head, that means the author did her job and left an impression.
Really sweet story. I loved Lauren's compassion for James' patients and support of his work.I love this series, each book is better then the last!
This was a nice story. Not a blazing heat, but a slow simmer.
I liked the maturity and sophistication of James and Lauren. They had great chemistry – it was nice to see them connect.
I’m really looking forward to Matt’s story. His pain and sadness left me unsettled and I’m squirming in anticipation for his happy ending.
