Albaterra Invasion The SciFi Alien Invasion Romance Albaterra Mates Ashley L Hunt Books
The story was entertaining, but I felt there was a lack of character development. They seemed to fall in love by just looking at each other or within the first few days, but I wasn't sure why. At that time in the book, I had no feelings for either character. Why did Rex's parents care so much about Tabitha? I didn't see the relationship building with Rex, Tabitha or his parents, it was skimmed over. I would have liked to hear some more deep conversations between them so that I could understand the relationships. The book should have started with Tabitha's back story and how she ended up on the ship. Then we could really get to know her and feel her pain, not at nearly the end of the book.
Tabitha didn't know what the word "vessel" meant? That part was silly. If I wasn't almost at the end, I would have stopped reading the book at that moment.
Why do they use poison venom on their weapons. To use against who? Are they in a war with someone?
I just had so many questions, and cannot express them here due to them being spoilers.
I most likely won't continue this series of Alien romances.

Albaterra Invasion The SciFi Alien Invasion Romance Albaterra Mates Ashley L Hunt Books Reviews
This is the first book in a new series about aliens and their mates. It is a fast-pace book that will keep you engaged throughout the whole story. There's action, adventure, prejudices, humor, fear, suspense, danger, drama, twists/turns, enemies, intrigue, romance, passion/lust and love.
The Albatara planet has eleven unique kingdoms and one person rules over all of them. This is a story about the A'li-uud race who are not warriors but just want to be left alone. They know that once the humans report their existence they will be visited. The A'li-uud have been watching planet Earth for over five hundred years and not impressed at all. In this story we learn that humans are in fact the aliens instead of the aliens being aliens. This story is about two people who fall in love and are from two different planets/races, tells us how they overcome this major problem, and the obstacles that they have to overcome.
Add into the mix some human spaceships, elders who hate humans, and an ex who wants the hero for herself.
If you love stories about aliens and finding their mates then you're going to love reading this series. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and this review is my own opinion.
Rex, a Tribal Elder on Albaterra, has his attention on a sabrecat stalking a herd of hicorn. He skillfully took down the animal, and thanked it for giving up its life. Before he could do anything more, someone was sent to call him back to an emergency Forum of the Elders. Four human ships had come very near to their planet and immediate action was needed.
While Tabitha, the chef, was serving dinner to the crew, the ship lurched and she fell to the floor. They were under attack! The ship crashed and Tabitha fought her way out of the wreckage. She wanted to save others, but could not get back into the ship. Something approached and when she stated she did not understand the clicking noises it made, Rex spoke to her in her language. He was taking her back to the village for questioning, but was amazed when she stopped and begged him to help any others who had survived. He had been told humans were selfish, but she seemed to truly selflessly care for the lives of the crew.
Rex took her to his parents’ home which was closer than the village. They were uncomfortable at first, but eventually they relaxed and treated her as if she had always been with them. The Council was dealing with what to do about the alien Earth threat, and many were pushing for the destruction of the rest of the ships. How would this resolve for the safety of the A’li-uud people? What would happen if the Council found Tabitha with Rex’s family? Was there no hope for peace or negotiation? The Earth survivors seemed to present no threat and had no knowledge of a secret purpose for seeking them out, but it was very possible that groups back on Earth may indeed have hidden plans for conquest!
This was a very well written story that I thoroughly enjoyed. The description of the planet the ship crashed on was beautiful! And watching Tabitha and Rex learn about each other and experience feelings for each other was so well handled. I highly recommend this awesome story. It’s the start of more to come, and I can’t wait for the next one!
This book was obviously about a A'li-uud warrior/elder from Albaterra and a human woman falling in love. This was a good story. It highlighted the prejudice of both sides against each other causing grave consequences. I enjoyed that part of the story.

***** Do not read further if you don't want to know what happens. ****
But I found this book to be quite interesting in that the A'li-uud people had watched and reviewed Earth's unfortunate history for the last 1,000 years. They referred to how violent and self destructive we were. Although specifics were not mentioned, we all know how bad it has been. It led to a type of paranoia that was unknown to the A'li-uud causing them to react in a unnaturally violent way. The destruction of all four of the exploratory fleet vessels was their solution, even contemplating the annihilation of Earth. The A'li-uud were basically a peace loving people, although they were warriors and had exceptions. But the elders reacted in such a humanly paranoid way is what I found interesting. Who knows, maybe I'm just weird that I find this type of thing worth noting.
This was a good, basic Sci-Fi romance otherwise.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Sci-Fi romances.
